EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Alliance Atlantis Communications April 2007 to Present Position: Commercial Television Traffic National Geographic & Paid Programming.
Clients: Proctor & Gamble, Odeon, and all Paid Programming Clients (Thane Direct, Kingstar Media, etc.)
Responsibilities Include: -Work with agencies such as MacLaren McCann, Mediaedge:CIA and OMD to ensure creative/advertisements arrive on-schedule and meet quality control standards. -Daily use of MIJO, FastChannel (DGSP) and VYVX delivery servers. -Oversee placement and frequency of said creative/advertisements on daily traffic logs. -Oversee formatting of programming to create a daily traffic logs for Domestic and International locals. -Use Paradigm Traffic system to enter commercial copy. -Reconcile National Geographic Traffic logs to ensure CRTC regulations are met, and that sales/revenue has billed properly. -Training new staff on log reconciliation, product separation and tape runs.
Accomplishments: -Oriented myself with the industry standards of television/media sales. -Established a working understanding of CRTC broadcast regulations. -Established a working relationship with advertising agencies and clients. -Wrote step-by-step training instructions implemented by management for training purposes.
Alliance Atlantis Communications March 2006 to April 2007 Position: Closed Caption Editor
Clients: BBC Canada, BBC Kids, Discovery Health, Fine Living, Food, HGTV, History, IFC, National Geographic, Showcase, Showcase Action, Showcase Diva, and Slice networks.
Responsibilities Included: -Transcribing, timing and quality checking 1 hour of television programming daily. -Adhering to a style guide in accordance with CRTC broadcast and quality regulations. -Ingesting master copies of television programs to local server.
Accomplishments: -Fine-tuned written communication skills. -Strong attention to detail. -Met strict deadlines in terms of airdates. -Team worked to caption Alliance Atlantis library, meeting CRTC 100%-captioned mandate.
Toronto Film College May 2003 to September 2005 Director of Marketing & Copywriter... College Lecturer.
Clients: Toronto District School Board, OSAP, Ontario Association of Career Colleges, prospective students.
Responsibilities Included: -Copywriter for marketing literature, school policy, college guides and website. -Managed marketing budget. -Developed and presented said marketing materials to high school teachers, guidance councilors and students. -Liased with prospective students parents and walked them through curriculum and payment planning. -Organized home-stay/student housing.
Accomplishments: -Helped the school grow from a start-up business to an accredited career college. -Recruited numerous students without the help of OSAP. -Introduced school to TDSB and subsequent guidance departments. -Taught college-level history and theory classes.
